The objective of this presentation is to provide participants with a review of the fire code, and the roles and responsibilities of the owner, facility manager and supervisory staff. It will also show participants how to spot fire code violations and building safety concerns.

  • Participants will review the Fire Code, and roles and responsibilities of the Owner, of the facility Manager, and of “supervisory staff”.
  • Participants will review the requirements & objectives of Fire Safety Plans, establishing fire warden programs and training requirements in Ontario.
  • Participants will review the life safety systems found within almost all facilities in Ontario, with an understanding that meets the requirements of the Ontario Fire Code.
  • Participants will be led on a floor-by-floor fire inspection through a photographic tour of the facility, identifying fire code violations and building safety concerns.
  • Participants will understand the difference between check, test and inspect and review daily, weekly and monthly fire code requirements in Ontario, required to be maintained at every facility.
